In a group of 4, do a research on lighting and shading on 2 different space. Have a thorough research on the passive design strategies, the principles and details needed for these passive design strategies to perform best in tropical climate and to achieve thermal comfort in this building/space. Identify an app in your smartphone for measuring if needed in this space paying attention to passive design strategies and the environmental factors. Record and reference your data in tables highlighting importance to your study. Analyze the monitored measurement, environmental factor, people and space in diagrams, sections and plans. Explain how the environment of your case study is affected from natural and man-made factors. Identify issues if there is and propose a passive solution. Then, compile the analysis data into 2 A3 board neatly.

Reflection
Through this assignment, I am able to identify the issues of the chosen space such as over exposure, high temperature at certain hours, lighting issues and etc. Other than that, I had learn how passive design strategies can improve the situation of a space by changing the installation and how to manage active designs to reach the most efficiency usage. I had also learn about how natural and man-made factors can affect the thermal comfort and human comfort in a space.
This course had teached me the basics of building science and help me in identifying the common issues in most building and understanding the strategies to solve it. It also delivered me the importance of considering natural, man-made factors and sustainability before design a building in future.
